Be A Teen Tutor!

We encourage teens to tutor younger kids with reading, writing, comprehension and mathematic skills.  This is a great opportunity for teens to get involved in the community and take on a mentoring and leadership role.  Not only do teens benefit from this program, the younger kids are shown that education is important as well.

Teen Night

Teen nights are a safe way for teens in the community to spend a Friday night.  Enjoy food, basketball, pool, games, DJ dancing, and so much more!  Teen Night is held every first Friday of each month during the school year from 8-11pm unless otherwise announced.  Admission is $5.

Torch Club

Torch Club is a community based service group that serves the Kirkland area.  We have done service projects such as sending cards and cookies to the troops in Iraq, decorating donation boxes, visiting retirement homes and much more.  Grades 6-8 are welcome!  Meetings take place every Tuesday from 5pm-6pm at the Club Teen Center.

Keystone Club

Keystone is a community based service group that serves the Club and surrounding area.  Our service projects in the past have included putting on fundraising events, events such as Parents Night Out, and Teen Night.  We have spent a lot of time over the past year volunteering at a youth shelter in Seattle.  Teens in grades 9-12 are welcome.  Meetings take place every Thursday at 6pm-7pm at the Club Teen Center.

Junior Staff Volunteers

Need or want community service hours?  Job experience?  Then get involved in the Kirkland Boys & Girls Club Junior Staff!  Junior Staff teach classes, raise money for the Club, play games with the kids, organize activities, plan and put together special events.  This program offers valuable experience to teens and a great program to put on your resume!

For more information about any of our Teen centered Programs, please contact Tom Olson, Teen Director at 425-827-0132 or tolson@positiveplace.org.

“Club activities are well thought out and well run—they do a lot for and with teens.”
